With the NBA season winding down, the Atlanta Hawks are currently in 5th place for the Zion Williamson sweepstakes and they seem to be loving it.
Nobody was expecting the Hawks to do a whole lot mainly because their two best players are, in NBA years, an infant and a grandfather. Don’t get me wrong, people weren’t expecting them to be as bad as the Knicks and Cavs were this year, but they were expecting a top 3 chance in the Zion Williamson sweepstakes so #5 overall isn’t that far off.
The problem was Trae Young is so damn electric
and Vince Carter has enough charisma and basketball knowledge that he could take a D-3 team on the court with him and he’d make a game of it. Oh yea, and University of Maryland alumni Alex Len and Kevin Huerter didn’t seem to hurt the team either:
Shoutout Terrapins basketball.
Imagine a team with Trae Young, Vince Carter, Kevin Huerter, Alex Len, AND Zion Williamson???
I think the Hawks might be a lucky lottery pick away from being the Cleveland Browns of the NBA.
