BREAKING: Eagles Super Bowl Run is Back on as Carson Wentz Goes Down With Injury

ESPN – The Philadelphia Eagles are concerned that quarterback Carson Wentz won’t play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams because of a back injury and have told Nick Foles to be ready to play, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter… Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Wentz would sit out Wednesday’s practice with back “soreness” and “tightness” and would not commit to Wentz playing Sunday against the Rams… It was one year ago Monday that Wentz tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee against the Rams.

This is great news for Eagles fans. Carson Wentz has struggled all season and now they can turn to the 2018 Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to bring them back to greatness.

In all honesty, the Eagles still have a shot to make the playoffs but it’s going to be very hard to get there. They either need the Cowboys to meltdown, which is entirely possible because they are the Cowboys, but also not likely since they have been red-hot lately. Or, they need to steal the last wild card spot from the Vikings and the Panthers.

Both the Vikings and the Panthers are playing like shit right now, which is good for the Eagles. However, two of the last three games for the Eagles are against the Rams (away) and the Texans (home), two of the best teams in the league. The Eagles will play the R-words in week 17 which may or may not be an easy win depending on how the R-words defense plays. The R-words have a top-10 defense if they play well, but they haven’t been playing even close to well as of late.

For the Vikings, they still have to play the Dolphins (home), Lions (away), and the Bears (home). None of those games will be easy, but they will all be winnable, especially if the Bears secure the three seed in the playoffs and rest their starters in week 17 against the Vikings.

The Panthers are on a five-game losing streak and still have to play the Saints (home), Falcons (home), and the Saints (away) again. The Saints are really good, but they also lost to the Cowboys two weeks ago so anything is possible.

I think the Vikings have the best chance to take the last NFC wild-card spot simply because they have the easiest remaining schedule of the three and I also think Kirk Cousins isn’t as bad as everyone says he is.

The Eagles still have a fighting chance though. If they win 2 of their last three, they’ll be 8-8 to end the season. They just have to hope Kirk Cousins actually is as bad as everyone says he is.
