Another Friday, another rack of bangers being dropped. It’s not even summer anymore and it still doesn’t look like the game is slowing down any. Just music on music on music heading full steam into 2020. I know it’s dumb, but once the clock strikes 2020, I feel like every new song is going to sound super futuristic. Like, the stuff we’re going to listen to when we’re in our spaceships cruising from one planet to the other futuristic. It’s a dumb thing to think for two reasons: (1) that’s not how the world works and (2) if a song is released on New Years Day 2020, that means it was made sometime in 2019, which doesn’t sound as futuristic as 2020. It doesn’t matter though because once we hit 2020, my dumb is going to be happily living in the future and that’s all that matters.

Albums of the Week
This week we got DaBaby, Young M.A, Keving Gates, and Eric Bellinger all dropping new albums. If you haven’t heard of DaBaby, then you’ve probably been living under a rock. He’s had the hottest album of the year by far and he’s one of the more outgoing rappers in the game.

His new album Kirk is a little more vulnerable than his last album and is gives us a little more insight to DaBaby the person. The intro to the album (elegantly titled “Intro”) is about his father passing away at the same time his album was going crazy viral. I can’t even imagine the glass case of emotions he must have been in going through all of that. Props to him for churning out another album only a couple of months later and capitalizing on his new found fame all while dealing with the death of his father. Album features include Kevin Gates, Chance the Rapper, Gucci Mane, YK Osiris, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Moneybagg Yo, Stunna 4 Vegas, and Migos. Quite literally an all-star lineup.
If you have a girl of any sort, like a girlfriend, a main chick, a side chick, or even just a fwb, I HIGHLY suggest keeping as far away as possible from Young M.A because she will steal your girl. Young M.A has been stealing girls since she was old enough to understand what stealing your girl meant. I, for one, will never leave my girl around Young M.A and I hope you head my advice and do the same. Listen to HERstory in the Making below.
I was never the biggest fan of Kevin Gates but he seems pretty popular with the kids nowadays and I do have to admit he comes out with some absolute bangers from time to time. Listen to his new album I’m Him below.
I’m also not the biggest fan of Eric Bellinger, but this album is pretty good and it includes features from K Camp, Kehlani, Marcus Black, Wale, and Guapdad 4000 (I’m, however, a huge fan of Guapdad 4000). Listen to Saved by the Bellinger below.
